Eloy is a retired member of the United States Air Force. He went to a local hospital with the worst headache of his life. While there, the left side of his face started to droop, and his left upper and lower extremities became weak. A “code” was called for stroke, and Eloy was sent for a CT scan, which revealed severe bleeding in his brain. Eloy was admitted to the Neuro ICU, and doctors performed a craniotomy to access and remove a large hematoma (blood clot) from his brain. Eloy was intubated, placed on mechanical ventilation, and eventually required a tracheostomy. Read more of his recovery story here.
